Some Tricks To Stay Thin In Hollywood Are Extremely Unhealthy Apr 12, 2017 by Cathy (Day Styles)
It's pretty tough these days to find any excess fat in Hollywood. If you do, it usually doesn’t last too long because the “fat” star will eventually become another “skinny” star. Some celebrities are so thin that they're seriously risking their health. The problem is that many of these stars don't go into detail about what it takes to stay in (Hollywood) shape. They might laugh and boast about having great genes, or maybe they claim of having high metabolism which allows them to eat junk food and not gain an ounce, but I call shenanigans. The reality is there's no magic trick to staying healthy. If you want to look and feel good, you have to work at it, and it's a process. If that's what you're looking for, make sure you avoid the following "weight loss secrets" they don’t want you to know about.
Extreme Personal Training
As a personal trainer to the stars, Gunnar Peterson has helped sculpt the fabulous bodies of many famous celebrities including Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie. Some of his clients have actually trained with him 3-4 days a week while still doing their regular, grueling workouts. However, these celebrities aren’t likely to let the world know how much sweat it took to have such a killer body. In one instance, an actress told the press she did yoga and hiked with her dog to stay thin. Of course, you could take her words at face value, but we know that there's much more to it than just that. By eating right and exercising regularly, you could look and feel just as healthy.
The Hard Boiled Egg Diet
Rumor has it that during the filming of Cold Mountain, there was an actress who would only eat boiled eggs - one in the morning, then two when the day was done, that’s it. That's not really something you should do because if you don’t provide your body with at least enough calories to function, it causes your metabolism to slow down because your body is now in starvation mode. She's not the only example either as trainer to the stars, David Kirsch says, he had a client getting ready for the Oscars and all she was eating was 2 eggs a day. Luckily, the trainer worked his magic and persuaded her to have a few almonds, protein shake, and some vitamins as well. If you pump iron, you won't build lean, fat burning muscles if you don’t provide your body the required nutrients to do so. The average adult needs a minimum of 1,200 calories per day to maintain their weight with no additional exercise, so make sure you feed your body.
Fasting aka Starving
Famous actors and actresses have been known to starve themselves from time to time in order to shed a few pounds. You may have heard of something called the Lemonade Diet. It's cleansing drink made up of maple syrup, water, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. Yes, do this and you will lose weight because you're consuming minimal calories, but not eating is never a solution. Another top secret trick celebrities use is called the “IV diet.” Celebrities actually check themselves into the hospital and get hooked up to an IV drip so they can stop eating completely. I think you’ll agree with Gunnar Peterson when he says these people aren’t fat, they’re crazy. Cleansing or fasting is meant to be a short term tactic where you flood your body with healthy, all-natural juices to give your digestive system a rest, help purge your body of built up toxins, and restore the natural balance of your internal systems. It’s definitely not meant to be a permanent fix for someone looking to fit into tiny-sized dresses.
Chug the Caffeine
I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of photos of skinny celebs walking around town with their Venti-sized coffee cups in hand. There's no doubt that it would be a zero-calorie version, but maybe they'll have a low-calorie short or a tall “skinny” on occasion. For celebrities, they tend to load up on caffeine all day long, instead of eating. It’s a trend where these stars think that caffeine is speeding up their metabolism and burning fat. However, like most things in life, moderation is key - especially when it comes to eating. So, when you decide to ingest caffeine all the time, you trigger the release of stress hormones, boosting your cortisol and insulin levels. When this happens, you’re actually telling your your body to start storing fat, not burning them.
Chain-Smoking and Peanuts
Smoking has been used as a weight loss tool for many ages. When people attempt to kick the habit, they’re always concerned about getting fat. You might see beautiful celebrities choosing to smoke rather than eating properly, just to stay thin. They might drink diet soda and eat peanuts, but when the handful of nuts are gone, out come the cigarettes. This type of behaviour is so incredibly unhealthy, our advice is to just not do it.
