10 Broken New Year’s Resolutions (And How to Keep Them) Dec 28, 2016 by Sarah (Day Styles)
The new year comes with a lot of pressure to commit to an impressive resolution, but we almost always fail to complete our personal goals! Here are some of the most popular resolutions that we always seem to break no matter how hard we try - and tips that might help all of us manage our new year’s resolutions.
People may have different exercise goals, depending on what they like to do and where they want to end up! One person might want to increase flexibility while another might want to run their first big race or marathon. Either way, find what it is that you love doing and stick with it. If you find you hate preparing for a run, don’t be afraid to try a different workout regime (just don’t stop until you make the switch for real!) Have a concrete goal, rather than just promising to exercise more. It could be your first marathon or lifting certain amount of weight. Some days will be harder than others but having an end goal in mind will help get past those hurdles. If you find a buddy that enjoys the same workout or has a similar goal, you’ll also be far more likely to make it to the end!
9. Enjoy Life to The Fullest
It can be a hard concept to grasp on to, especially in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but, every once in a while, we all need to take a step back and really pause to enjoy our lives. Some people find it hard to stop and enjoy life, with work or school getting in the way. Try living in the moment, think of things you’re grateful for every morning, be present in your job, your studies, or focus on positive interactions with friends and family. If you find yourself slipping into old ways of thinking, look for books or lessons that enhance your personal growth (like yoga, spiritual practices, or journaling). Seek to be a better person today than you were yesterday and bring happiness to those around you! You’ll find your own life richer as a result.
