Smartest Animals from Around the World Jun 16, 2015 by Victoria (Day Styles)
Chimpanzees exhibit a remarkable intelligence that is of great fascination to scientists. Chimps are capable of making and using tools, employing communal hunting techniques, and have proven problem-solving abilities. In the wild, chimpanzees use sticks and rocks as tools. They live in large social groups and work together to solve particularly complex challenges. In captivity, chimpanzees can even communicate with people using sign language!
Chimpanzees can remember useful information for extended periods of time. Their ability to think way ahead is often used when hunting, using clever tricks to capture prey. Unfortunately, chimps have also been observed using psychological manipulation with their family members - smart, but not always nice. Recently studies have shown chimpanzees teaching sign language to young ones without any human involvement!
