The Best Ways To Include Coffee In Your Beauty Routine
Coffee gets us all through the day - but it can be a lot more than just your daily cup of joe! You can use coffee as an effective part of your beauty routine! It's natural, it has a great aroma, and, relatively speaking, it's very inexpensive. Here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate coffee into your everyday beauty routine.
You can mix coffee grounds and sugar with some coconut oil (1 cup each of coffee and coconut oil and 1/2 cup of sugar) and you'll end up with a paste. Rub it all over your body before a shower, starting from your feet and working your way up. Massage in a circular motion and use enough pressure so that it doesn't hurt, but just enough so that you can tell it's working. Rinse in the shower and your body will feel REALLY soft, and the caffeine will temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite!
Gives You A Glow
Mix a 1/2 cup of coffee grinds with a 1/2 cup of cocoa powder with a full cup of milk and stir it into a paste. Apply the cream to some clean skin and leave it on for fifteen to twenty minutes. When the time is up, wash it off with warm water and reveal the natural glow to your skin - almost like you just had a great facial at the spa. The paste helps exfoliate dead skin cells leaving your skin refreshed and silky smooth!
Helps Your Hair
Do you find that your hair grows incredibly slowly? I sure do, but coffee can help speed things up. Once (and only once) per week mix cold brewed coffee or ground espresso into your conditioner, massage the conditioner into your roots and scalp, and leave it on for about five to ten minutes. The massage and the caffeine help stimulate growth by increasing blood circulation. Hopefully, you'll notice how much faster your hair is growing if you use this method once a week.
Helps Ease A Sunburn
Coffee has anti-inflammatory properties so when you've spent a little too much time in the sun, turn to some java to help ease the pain of a sunburn! Brew yourself a cup of coffee and mix it with cold water. Soak a towel or cloth in the bowl and lay it on the sunburned skin. Not only will it immediately cool the skin, but it will help reduce the swelling! Always try and avoid getting sunburned, apply your sunscreen liberally, and always reapply if you're in the sun for an extended period.
Reduce Swollen Eyes
Similar to soothing sunburn, you can also reduce swollen or puffy eyes with a quick cup of coffee! Brew some coffee and mix it with ice cubes or pour it into a chilled bowl. Once the coffee is cold, soak some cotton pads or cotton balls in the brew, remove and ring them out, and place the soaked cotton pads on your eyes for about ten minutes. The caffeine will help to draw out the water retained in your eyes, and it will constrict your blood vessels. As an added benefit it can lighten any dark circles that you may have around your eyes!
There are a ton of different ways you can use your morning cup of coffee in your beauty routine - making your life easier and a little more fragrant!
