Reinvigorating Homemade Facial Masks

Mar 18, 2016 by Sarah (Day Styles)

If you’re searching for the next miracle product for your skin, you may not have to look any further than your fridge. We have three different facial masks that you can make at home! These masks are designed for all skin types and will leave your skin glowing. But always make sure you test out the masks on a small area of skin to make sure you don’t react poorly to them before putting them all over your face.

Yogurt, Honey, and Lavender

The probiotics in the yogurt can fight chronic skin conditions (but always use a test patch before putting on your whole face) such as acne and rosacea. The honey has major antibacterial properties, and the lavender oil comes with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that can help suppress acne and inflammation!

Ingredients

2 tbsp Plain Greek Yogurt

1 tsp Honey

Either 3 drops of lavender essential oil OR 1/3 tsp dried lavender flowers.

Directions

Mix ingredients together until consistent.;

Apply to face and let sit for 10 minutes.;

Rinse with warm water and moisturize as usual.

Avocado, Egg, and Lemon

Avocados are full of vitamin C and antioxidants. Egg proteins and vitamin C help create collagen and elastin which helps keep the skin firm and plump, fighting wrinkles and fine lines. The lemon juice helps to keep the skin tone even and helps to heal acne.

Ingredients

1 Ripe Avocado

1 Egg White at room temperature

1 tsp Lemon Juice

Directions

Mix all of the ingredients together; whip if you don’t want any chunks;

Apply to face, avoiding the eyes;

Let dry for 30 minutes;

Rinse with warm water.

Banana, Honey, and Orange

The potassium in the bananas is great for the skin, as it hydrates and moisturizes at the same time while the zinc in the bananas helps to kill acne-causing germs that hide in your skin. Honey also has antibacterial properties and skin-boosting antioxidants!

Ingredients

1 Banana

1 tbsp Honey

1 tbsp Organic Orange Juice

Directions

Mash half of the banana;

Add the honey and organic orange juice;

Apply mixture to the face avoiding the eyes and let set for 15 minutes;

Rinse with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer. You'll emerge clean and refreshed!
