Five Shows We Loved Seeing at Berlin Fashion Week Jul 21, 2017 by Alex (Day Styles)
We were huge fans of the most awaited fashion fiestas of the world; the Berlin Fashion Week. The Berlin Fashion Week, which is officially titled as the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, took place on July 4th, 2017 and ran for four days until July 7th. During these four days, the stage was host to some of the finest established and upcoming designers in fashion. Discover the five shows we pegged as our favorite.
The opening show of this year's fashion week featured works from the house of Ivanman Note. This Berlin-based brand started its journey in 2010; it's the label of famous designer Ivan Mandzukic. Other than presenting its creations seasonally both in Zagreb and Berlin, Ivanman has made its impact on the western fashion world felt even through shows in Minsk, Belgrade, New York, and Paris. We are a fan of this brand particularly the perfect cuts all its designs possess. We also love how Mandzukic combines sensuality of various fabrics with contrasting color concepts.
The show was held on July 4th at 4 pm. Laurel is a brand meant for women who represent the new concept of femininity. Elisabeth Schwaiger, the head designer of the brand, believes in designs that would make women look feminine yet strong, sensual yet cool, empathetic yet tough, gentle yet ambitious. The clothes belonging to the brand feature rich contrasts and are designed keeping in mind the likings of today's women.
3. DAWID TOMASZEWSKI
Creations from this contemporary German luxury clothing brand was showcased on the second day of this year's Berlin Fashion Show. The highlights of Dawid Tomaszewski's work were the amazing craftsmanship and the wide array of high-quality fabrics the creation feature. The label is widely known for the extraordinary cuts all its outfits feature. We are also fans of the uncompromising fit the clothes offer.
4. Marcel Ostertag
The majority of us are big fans of designs that combine modernity and tradition. This made Marcel Ostertag's show a must watch. Other than setting the ramp of the Berlin Fashion Week on fire, Ostertag has also showcased his designs at the New York Fashion Week. To ensure that the quality of his creations is never compromised, Ostertag produces all his works exclusively in Germany.
5. Hien Le
Hien Le hit the stage with his work on the concluding day of this year's Berlin Fashion Week. Hien Le has a great relationship with this event. He had his first major fashion show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin; what's more, he was even nominated as the "Best Newcomer" by Sportswear International, an esteemed international fashion magazine. His works combine accurate workmanship with diligent design in the best possible manner. Clothes belonging to his label would fascinate the wearer with their discreet cuts.
