Christian Louboutin Adds Nude Sandals To Their Nude Shoe Roster Jun 29, 2017 by Taylor (Day Styles)
It made headlines four years ago when Christian Louboutin first debuted their collection of nude colored pumps. They expanded their collection of 5 different colors to 7, then included a ballet flat (the Solasofia) to the collection. This summer the famous brand has released another addition to their series of nude shoes, two new pairs of sandals for the summer.
The Christeriva is a "ballet-inspired stiletto" with ribbon straps around the ankle and retails for about $875.
The Cherrysandal is the other version and has a chunkier heel as well as a platform with a clear plastic detail. The Cherrysandal retails for $895.
Women around the globe prasied Louboutin when he was the first designer to push a line with a variety of nude colors to fit every woman's skin tone no matter what color it is. Nude shoes are the color of choice for many superstars, and now there's a nude to fit any skin tone no matter what your background is. For mixed race women or women in general who do not have beige skin, the struggle to find a "nude" shoe has been difficult until Louboutin opened up the new normal and expanded what society thought of as a nude colored shoe.
He's been famously quoted as saying "Nude is not a color, it's a concept" and he's totally right. Nude is supposed to match perfectly with your complexion and until now it's been very hard for non-white women to find a nude color for them. Louboutin has now set the way for other designers, both in shoes and in clothing, to take a second thought about what "nude" means and adjust accordingly. Awesome!
