Ronda Rousey is an American mixed martial artist, judoka and actress. She was the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in Judo and in 2015 she was ranked number one of fifty Most Dominant Athletes Alive. In September of 2015, Rousey told the world on The Ellen Degeneres Show that she is currently UFC’s highest paid fighter, male or female. In 2017, she is ranked as the #4 female bantamweight fighter in the world by the UFC.
Rousey is well known for her skills in grappling and is particularly noted for her string of victories by armbar. She began fighting at age 11 and by age 17 she qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens making her the youngest judoka in the entire games. She was the first female fighter to sign with UFC, which happened in November 2012. Rousey has won six official UFC fights making her about $1,080,000 in prize money (which works out to $1002.79 per second of actual fight time). She's an inspirational athlete who has shown every woman that they can fight hard and win big, literally.
